Habitat for Humanity is a homeownership program that empowers families to build a new life for themselves through the stability and security of owning their own home. Habitat homes are not given away but are sold to families who qualify and are willing to put in hundreds of hours of sweat equity labor and to make a monthly mortgage payment. Habitat homes are affordable because Habitat does not make a profit, the homes are sold with a no-interest loan, and the homes are built mostly by volunteers.
Selected families are our partners in every sense of the word. They contribute between 300 and 500 hours of labor on their own home and on the homes of other Habitat families. Homeowners also participate in a series of classes designed to prepare them for the responsibilities of homeownership.
Boise Valley Habitat for Humanity homes are built in Ada County.
If you are interested in applying for our affordable housing program, you must attend an application meeting. We do not have the next meeting scheduled at this time, but if you will call (331-2916) or email (info@hfhboise.org) the Habitat office with your name, mailing address and phone number we will send you the necessary information when the next meeting has been scheduled.
