Family Selection Committee Minimize

The Family Selection Committee typically meets twice a year to plan, organize and conduct the application meetings where families complete their application forms. This committee also ensures that each applicant understands the process and commitment involved in buying a home through the Habitat program, to include completing sweat equity hours and attending the required classes.

Committee members review each application to determine the qualifications of each applicant on the basis of Need, Partnership, and Ability to Pay. Those who qualify to this point will receive home visits by teams of two from the committee. The committee then makes their recommendation to the Board of Trustees on which families are the best fit for the Habitat program.
