Frazier Place | Boise Valley Habitat for Humanity

Frazier Place

Together, we are changing lives in Boise.

Frazier Place is a fifteen home subdivision named in honor of one of Boise Valley Habitat for Humanity’s founders, Dr. Robert Frazier. Dr. Bob envisioned eliminating poverty housing in Ada County, so it is fitting that our largest project to date is named for him. In 2012, we completed site preparation and began home construction on a 2.3 acre infill lot on Preece Drive, near Fairview and Milwaukee. Frazier Place will become home to 15 families.

The “new urban” design for Frazier Place includes common areas, minimizes the impact of automobiles, and encourages interactions among neighbors. Situated between a commercial zone and an established residential neighborhood, the location will give homeowners easy access to public transportation, shopping, medical services, and a large number of potential employers. Immediately northwest of the property is a city park.

Together with partner families, and a wide variety of members of the community, Habitat will build three, four, and five bedroom homes at Frazier Place. Financial and material donations, as well as thousands of hours of volunteer time, will enable Habitat to sell these homes to qualified families with zero interest, no profit mortgages. At Frazier Place 15 families will realize the dream of homeownership as a result of this community effort.

In honor of Dr. Frazier’s vision, this project is intended to mobilize more supporters than ever, broadening the community’s commitment to Habitat. This will enable us to build more homes each year over the long term. Frazier Place is a stepping stone on our path to providing the opportunity of homeownership to more hard working Idaho families than ever before.

Boise Valley Habitat for Humanity is making progress toward realizing Dr. Frazier’s vision of eliminating poverty housing in Ada County.
