Over the Edge is a unique fundraiser that offers 75 supporters of Boise Valley Habitat for Humanity (BVHfH) the once-in-a-lifetime experience of rappelling 20 stories from the roof of the U.S. Bank building in downtown Boise. We guarantee a special event that reflects Idaho's active outdoor lifestyle!

Who Can Go Over The Edge?  Edgers must be at least 14 years old, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and no more than 300 pounds and raise a minimum of $1,000 for Boise Valley Habitat for Humanity prior to the event.

Is It Safe?  Yes, absolutely!  The event is set up as an industrial work site that meets and exceeds the highest safety standards.  Equipment, practices, and procedures are approved by Federal and State OSHA, Workers Compensation, and Industrial Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA).

How Do I Reserve A Spot?  The first 75 people to raise $1,000 will be guaranteed a rappel spot.  You may immediately confirm a spot with a $1,000 credit card guarantee which allows BVHfH to charge the difference ($1,000 less the amount you have raised) to your credit card the week after the event.

How Do I Sign Up?  Visit https://firstgiving.com/bvhfh/over-the-edge-2017.  Complete the registration for Over the Edge, establish a fundraising page, and begin raising money.

Over the Edge 2016

On Saturday, September 24, 2016 Boise Valley Habitat for Humanity held its first Over the Edge fundraiser.  Forty Habitat supporters rappelled 20 stories from the top of the U.S. Bank Building in downtown Boise. These intrepid “Edgers” raised a minimum of $1000 each to support Boise Valley Habitat for Humanity and were rewarded with the experience of a lifetime.

Over the Edge is proof that we have some very dedicated supporters. Some participants were eager for the thrill of being so far above our city and some were conquering a great deal of fear as they climbed the platform and stood on the edge. For each it is a unique demonstration of their belief in Habitat and the Habitat Mission.

The event was made possible by the generous support of the Gardner Company and the special enthusiasm of AT&T and their employees. Media joined in too. A lucky ESPN radio listener took her turn on the ropes during a VIP session Friday afternoon. KBOI 2 Chief Meteorologist Roland Steadham went over live as part of his 4:00 P.M. weather report and then again as part of the 5:30 P.M. broadcast. They were joined by friends, family, and other onlookers who cheered on the Edgers as well as a passing Boise City Police officer whose rappel was sponsored spur-of-the-moment by a BVHfH board member.
